What is Tangula Train?
Starting in September of 2008, Tangula Railtours will run regular train journeys from Beijing to Lhasa, traversing the world's highest railway through the spectacular scenery of Tibet. Another train will go between Beijing and Lijiang in Yunnan province, delivering the fantastic views of Guangxi and Yunnan Provinces of South China.
"Tangula trains will provide passengers with unique and unforgettable luxury travel experiences," said Josh Brookhart, Tangula International's Co-Founder and CEO, "The journeys will enable discerning travelers to immerse themselves in the stimulating landscapes and cultural traditions of China that were previously inaccessible to them."
Managed by Kempinski, each Tangula luxury train accommodates a maximum of only 96 guests in 48 spacious suites. The suites feature a smart and contemporary design, offering en-suite bathrooms and all the technological conveniences of home including a full entertainment system (see more at Tangula Official site). The trains also offer ample space and convenience for lounging, with two dining cars and a scenic car located at the center of the train.

Northern Route: Beijing to Lhasa / Lhasa to Beijing
Five-day/four-night journeys depart from Beijing for Lhasa, with four-day/three-night journeys departing from Lhasa for Beijing. Traverse the vast grasslands and deserts that were once part of the old Silk Road, enjoy the spectacular Tibetan plateau, pass through a myriad of snow-capped mountain ranges and glide along the rim of the pristine, mineral-rich Cuona and Qinghai Lakes.

Southern Route: Beijing to Lijiang / Lijiang to Beijing
Five-day/four-night journeys depart from Beijing to Lijiang, with four-day/three-night journeys departing from Ljiang for Beijing. Traveling through Guangxi, Guizhou and Yunnan provinces, home to more than 25 ethnic groups, each with its own customs, architectural style and artistic traditions, you will visit the mystical karst landscapes of the Li River, the extraordinary Shilin Stone Forest and enjoy the fabled charm of Dali.
