The Guilin local government launched a huge project connecting the 4 lakes and 2 rivers at downtown of Guilin at the end of last century. After completion in 2000, the project made a big beautiful park at the city center, with all kinds of plants and pavilions on the banks, various bridges flying over. It has become one of the most popular sites for locals and tourists.
