DAY 1 Arrival / Beijing by flight
Arrive at Beijing Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for your acclimation and exploring Beijing on your own.
DAY 2 Beijing (B, L)
Beijing, the most representative city of China, is celebrated for its time-honored history and numerous legacies. Your Beijing tour today starts with Tiananmen Square, which is arguably claimed as the largest public square in the world. By walking through the square, you enter the Forbidden City, the largest imperial palace in China for 24 emperors' reign during the Ming and Qing dynasties with a history of around 600 years. After lunch, transfer to visit Summer Palace, Qing’s Imperial rulers’ favorite summer residence. UNESCO inscribed Summer Palace a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1998.
DAY 3 Beijing (B, L, D)
People always believe that a China trip is not complete without a visit to the Great Wall. Ready to be stunned by the Mutianyu Great Wall outside the bustling city. After breakfast in the hotel, you will be picked up to visit Mutianyu Great Wall (round-way cable car) - one of the best preserved sections of the Great Wall that was first built in the 6th century AD. Flexible hiking time will cater to all your needs. The relaxing Hutong tour on a pedicab (around 30 minutes ride) followed will give you a chance to know daily life of the local people. The hutongs are unique street design in Beijing - some crisscrossing old narrow paths with courtyard houses built on each side.
DAY 4 Beijing / Xi'an by speed train (B, L)
End the Beijing tour by immersing yourself in the Temple of Heaven in the Morning. It is a masterpiece of architecture and landscape design where the ancient emperors used to pray for the God's bless of the whole nation. After lunch, transfer to take a high speed train to Xian (5 hours). It’ll be a cozy trip while watching the ever-changing scenery along the way. Be met and transferred to the hotel. DAY 5 Xi'an (B, L)
Xian is one of the oldest China cities, and the starting point of ancient Silk Road. Today transfer to visit the famous Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum for Emperor Qin’s Terracotta Army - NO.1 attraction in Xian. It is one of the most important archaeological finds in the 20th century, with hundreds of detailed life-size clay warriors and horses of more than 2200 years old. You’ll be amazed by this spectacular monument from ancient China empery. Afterwards, drive back to downtown Xian , have a leisure stroll at the Small Wild Goose Pagoda area – an elegant park and a perfect mix of history, Buddhism and peace. Right close to Small Wild Goose Pagoda and the Jianfu Temple is the Xian Museum, showcasing the precious relics of ancient Xian, Buddhist statue arts, Chinese calligraphy, paintings and jade articles.
DAY 6 Xi'an / Shanghai by flight (B, L)
After breakfast, drive to visit Ancient Xian City Wall of 13.74 kilometer long in total. Built in Tang Dynasty over 1000 years ago, they have been well-kept, restored and known as the most prominent walls built after medieval time. You may have a bike trip on the city walls (optional and on your own expense) and “go back in time”. Later, you’ll be introduced to the Moslem Street (Muslim Street), Xian’s most famous food street, full of local flavor snacks, such as Rou Jia Mo, Yang Ruo Pao Mo, Liang Pi etc. The street also features many cultural sites and historical mosques of different architectural styles. Walk around for exterior of Bell Tower and Drum Tower, the symbol of Xi'an and of significant importance in Xian history.
DAY 7 Shanghai (B, L)
Full day Shanghai city tour for both the old corners and new miracles. First visit Yu Garden used to be a private garden with 400 years' history, featuring traditional architectural style of Yangtze Delta. Further stroll around Town God Temple to enjoy the old Shanghai atmosphere and all kinds of snacks, and marvel at its magnificent architecture. Then go and explore the former French Concession, the Xiantiandi District. It is a pedestrian street composed of traditional street format of Shanghai Shikumen and modern development. Later go acrossPeople's Square and visit Shanghai Museum, museum of Chinese art, with a collection of more than 120,000 rare cultural pieces. Visitors are encouraged to rent the earphone for better English explanation of the museum and its cultural items (fee for the earphone is at your own expense). Afterwards have a leisure stroll on the Bund - Shanghai's famous waterfront is to see aged buildings of the colonial period.and new-erect modern skyscrapers like Shanghai Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center and Oriental Pearl TV Tower
DAY 8 Shanghai / departure (B)
