Ordos means “Palaces” in Mongolian language, which is claimed to be related with the eight white yurts of Genghis Khan. The city is located in the southwest of Inner Mongolia, encircled by the Yellow River in the north, the west and east. The ancient Great Wall of the region separated Shaanxi and Shanxi province in the south.
