Mt. Qingxiu ranges along the north bank of Yongjiang River in the southeastern suburb of Nanning. Looking magnificent yet elegant, the mountain is covered in green. It is reputed as the "Green Lungs" of the city of Nanning. Here, people can appreciate all sorts of tall and broad-leave arbors, epiphytes and liana as well as some other tropical plants. It provides the people living in the city with a tranquil, leisure and relaxing environment to take a break.

Standing stop of the mountain is a pagoda called Dragon-Elephant Pagoda. It is the symbol of the mountain. Nine stories of the pagoda were initially built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1683 D.C.). During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the government blasted it off for the pagoda was thought to be a mark for Japanese invaders to bomb the city. It was restored not until the middle of the 1980s and built of grey bricks and green tiles according to the original style. Of 9 stories and 60 meters high, it features the doubled eaves standing on a platform of 12 meters in diameter and the inside is installed with a spiral staircase of 207 steps. It is the largest and highest pagoda in Nanning. Escalating onto the top tier, you can have a clear view within a distance of some 10 km around and of course the panoramic view of Nanning City.

At the waist of the slope are the two large manmade lakes, the Heavenly Lake and the Yaochi, setting off the green trees all over the mountain. With a shimmering surface the Heavenly Lake and the reflections in the water intermingle into a pretty scene. Built on the islet of the lake are the two kiosks, being the ideal place for travelers to make repose. The two lakes together with trees all over have turned the mountain into a large air-purifier, a "large lungs" supplying the Nanning City with fresh air.
