The agreement is good for 10 years.
Under the agreement, Cathay Pacific's four weekly flights from Hong Kong to Delhi will rise to 14 a week, where twice-daily flights with no aircraft restriction can be operated.
Cathay's four weekly flights between Hong Kong and Mumbai have been increased to 10 weekly.
Hong Kong can operate 11 weekly flights to new points, Bangalore and Chennai, and has secured third- and fourth freedom rights.
The new agreement gives Hong Kong 27 weekly flights to India, including three fifth freedom flights from India to Dubai, the source added.
Meanwhile, India's 27 weekly flights to Hong Kong include 14 fifth freedom flights from Hong Kong to North Asia and transpacific.
