Hiking in Guilin

Guilin does offer good places for trekking and hiking. If you prefer moderate walking, you may go to the Li River and Yangshuo. The terrain does not have many ups and downs. If you would like some rigorous hiking, Longsheng is the place with impressive rice terraces and minority culture.

Hiking from Yangdi-Xingping along Li River

Guilin Li River Guilin Li River The 18-km-long trekking route features with its most stunning view along the river. Limestone peaks, a clear river and peaceful rural life constitute a breathtaking landscape painting. The 4 hours walk can be achieve quite easily before you realize it. It is more like a weekend picnic among sceneries than a physical challenge. To know more about the trip, you can ask for more pictures taken on the route.

Hiking in Longji (the Backbone of Dragon)

Yao ladies at Longji Longji in Chinese means the backbone of dragon, located around 95 km in the northwest of Guilin, Since Yuan Dynasty (1271-1368), Zhuang people began to reside here andLongji Rice Terraces build up the rice terraces on the slope of mountains. After the completion of the project in Qing Dynasty 600 years later, today we can see about 66 square kilometers terraced fields in the area. Besides Zhuang, some other minority people like Yao and Dong also live on the mountains, which have their own unique cultural background. From Longji to Dazhai, there is a flagstone path shared by local farmers and buffalo. The 4.5 hours hiking allows you to have a better understanding of these mountain tribes and their real life. One night stay in local farmer¡¯s wooden house can bring you back to long time ago¡
