Day
Arrive in Kunming, be met and transferred to the hotel. Check your photographic equipment if ready. Rest at hotel. Alternatively, explore the “Spring City” on your own for its night market, Green Lake Park, Dynamic Yunnan Show, etc.

After breakfast at hotel, drive 3 hours to Dongchuan. The colorful land of Dongchuan is regarded as a God’s color palette, with different beautiful colors from red to purple, brown, black, green and white. Your guide will lead you to the best site to enjoy a panoramic view of the laterite fields, with great photo opportunities. If weather permits, you can walk to take some photos of the stunning landscape at sunset. Overnight at local guesthouse.

  You May Want to Know  

  • The best time to take Dongchuan Red Land photographs is from September to December during the harvest season with the fall foliage, and May to June, when the rape flowers are in full blossom and the wheat is ripe.

Dongchuan

Today have more chances to take photos of Dongchuan Red Land. Your guide will know exactly where to shoot. Get up early in the morning to capture the sunrise at the Damakan. After that, photograph at the other sites like Jinxiu Garden, Qicai Slope, Moon Field, Thousand-year-old tree. Pray that the weather is good, and you can capture the best shot with the right light. In the afternoon, drive back to Kunming and check into the hotel.

Continue your photo trip, with private transfer to the south of Yunnan Province. Visit Stone Forest en route, a UNESCO-protected World Geopark. It is an amazing large set of limestone groups dating to millions of years ago and part of the South China Karst. Have your camera ready for various spectacular karst formations. Upon arrival at Jianshui Ancient Town, visit the Confucius Temple, one of the largest and most famous Confucius temples in China, where you can see people burn joss sticks and pray. Take photos of Family Zhu's Courtyard House – the carved beams and painted rafters, overhanging eaves, richly ornamented halls. If you wish, you can take more photos of the JIanshui old city gate, streets scene, towers, and traditional dwellings.

Zhu Family Garden

In the morning, visit Double-Dragon Bridge, a Seventeen arch stone bridge built in Qing Dynasty. It is one of the most beautiful ancient bridges in China, and a classic photography site. Then proceed to Yuanyang, famous for Hani people’s rice terraces. Local people work on the hillside fields for generations and have finally created a unique cultural landscape. Take photos of Yuanyang rice terraces at Tiger Mouth (Laohuzui) by sunset.

Yuanyang Rice Terraces

Morning time during the sunrise time, the terraced fields a different new look. Get up early to take photos at Duoyishu Rice Terraces shone by the soft, warm mornight sunlight. Thereafter go to Shengcun, Bada and Jingkou Hani Village. Capture more rice terraces photographs and also take photos Hani people's unique mushroom dwellings and friendly local villagers. Drive back to Kunming. 

  You May Want to Know   

  • The best time to take Yuanyang Rice Terraces photographs is November to next March, as the rice fields will be irrigated with water after harvest. From January to February, the various colors of wild flowers are in full bloom. And you may also capture the fields blanked with mist and seas of clouds.

Free time for your own exploration in Kunming. Transfer to the airport to fly to the next destination. End of your 7 days Yunnan trip.
