Day

Upon your arrival at Xi’an airport or rail station, you will be greeted by your private tour guide holding a sign with your name at the exit. With the window view, you will be transferred to the hotel booked in prior. Your tour guide will help you with the check-in procedure.

In the morning, meet your guide at hotel and then start today’s trip. Visit the Ancient Wall, the best-kept and longest city wall in China. It was built during the period of the Hongwu Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang as a military defense system in Ming Dynasty. Then you will visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the city emblem, which was first built in Tang Dynasty for the storage of Buddhist scriptures taken from India by Monk Xuanzang. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, drive around 1 hour then reach Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, which is one of the top attractions in China and famous for its historical significance and uniqueness. Spend about 2 hours there for the visiting with the guidance of your guide. Transfer back hotel after the trip.

Morning continue your private guided tour to visit the Bell Tower and Shanxi History Museum before leaving for Shanghai. Bell Tower has become the symbol of the ancient Xian City since it was built in 1384. From this important landmark extend East, South, West and North Streets, connecting the Tower to the East, South, West and North Gates of the City Wall of the Ming Dynasty. The Shanxi History Museum is China's first large modern national museum that marks a new milestone in the development of Chinese museums. The museum concentrates the essence of the history of China, known as the "treasure house of the Chinese nation", is an art palace displaying the ancient Chinese civilization and the history and culture of Shaanxi Province.

After lunch at a local restaurant, you will be transferred to rail station for a high speed train to Shanghai. The train journey takes around 6.5hrs. Upon arrival, be greeted by your private guide in Shanghai, and transfer to hotel. Have a good rest in hotel.

This morning you will set off to visit the Shanghai Museum (Closed on Monday), which is a large museum of ancient Chinese art. It boasts 120,000 pieces of rare and precious cultural relics in twenty-one categories, including bronze ware, ceramics, calligraphy, paintings, sculpture, furniture, jade and ivory carvings, bamboo and wood carvings, lacquer ware, oracle bones, seals, coins, and handicrafts of ethnic art.

Later walk to the the Yu Garden – the only fully restored classical Chinese garden in Shanghai which inaugurated in the Ming dynasty. Numerous rock and tree garden areas, ponds, walls and bridges separating various garden areas and pavilions are its features. And you will have time to visit the adjoining market.

Continue to the Bund. Stretching approximately 1500 meters, the Bund is the symbol of Shanghai and a living museum of the colonial history of Shanghai for about a century. At last, head to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower for the best viewing spot of Shanghai. It is a TV tower at the tip of Lujiazui by the side of Huangpu River, opposite The Bund and makes it a distinct landmark in the area. At 468 m (1,535 feet) high, it was the tallest structure in China from 1994-2007, when it was surpassed by the Shanghai World Financial Center.

  • Shanghai Acrobatic show is available at night with various kinds of traditional and modern Chinese feats such as jumping-through-the-hoops, plate-spinning, hat-swapping by eight performers, motorbike global cage, and so on. Both the adults and children will be marveled.

No doubt, Suzhou is a beautiful and more introverted neighbor of Shanghai. This morning, with the escort of your guide, head off to Suzhou by a driving around 2hrs. The first stop in Suzhou is the Master of the Nets Garden, which is the smallest classic garden in Suzhou, but shows the designer’s talent in using of space. The nearby Pingjiang History Quarter is worth for a visit due to the original style buildings standing on either side of the Pingjiang river. The second stop is Panmen, a part of the ancient wall of Suzhou. You will see land gates and water gates in this area.

Drive around 30 minutes, you will reach a historic water town-Tongli. Stone bridges and well preserved houses here show you a different face of China. Sailing down a small river by a small boat is a nice way to see the unique water town. Return Shanghai after the slow pace visit in Tongli.
