The food in Turpan is quite similar to those in Urumqi, including not only the Han’s Cantonese, Sichuan cuisines, but Uygur and Muslim specialties. The most popular ‘dish’ in Turpan should be the grapes and other fruits. The famous Uygur snacks like Kebabs, Nang, hand-picked rice are the staple food for the local people.

At downtown of Turpan, there is a local snack street called Guanghui Street (Bezeklik Road), which is the best place to try the local specialties. People can find inexpensive, but delicious, local snacks in a very wide range of selections, such as roast dumplings, Ququ, Saozi, roast mutton and spicy chicken.
