Day 1 Arrival in Beijing (No meal)
Be met at the airport and transferred to check in hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day 2 Beijing (B, L, D)
Excursion to the Tiananmen Square first--it covers an area of 100 acres and can host at least 1 million people, which makes it the largest public square in the world. Then go to the Forbidden City, located in the center of Beijing Municipality, was once the home of the 24 emperors and their households of the Ming and Qing dynasties, and the ritual and political center of the Chinese government. Later, the Temple of Heaven visit will let you be amazed by its architecture and landscape design which was used to pray for the God’s bless of the whole nation. Tonight, enjoy Beijing Roast Duck Dinner. Considered of the highest quality throughout the world, it is made of a rare sort of duck in Beijing.
Day 3 Beijing / Chengde (B, L)
Drive to see the famous wild great wall - Jinshanling Great Wall. It is an exemplary section of the Great Wall and hence comes the saying that Jinshanling section is the most quintessential of the Great Wall. You will also visit the Eastern Qing Tombs, an imperial mausoleum complex of the Qing Dynasty (1636-1912) located in Zunhua of Hebei Province. Continue your trip to Chengde--250km northeast of Beijing, got its fame as "summer capital" when Qing emperors constructed imperial palace and spent their summers there.
Day 4 Chengde / Beijing (B, L)
A guided tour will show you the Mountain Resort's architectural highlights, The Villa was the biggest garden of the imperial family in the Qing Dynasty. In 1994, the Mountain Resort and its surrounding temples were designated as a world Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. Lead / Go to the famous Putuo Zongcheng Temple, known as the Lesser Potala Palace, it was built from 1767 to 1771and located north of the Mountain Resort. Then go to Puning Temple (Temple of Universal Peace), houses the world's tallest wooden sculpture of the Bodhisattva Avalokitevara (22.28-meter-high and 110-ton), hence its nicknamed is the "Big Buddha Temple". Finally drive back to Beijing.
Day 5 Beijing / Datong (B)
Pick up at the hotel and transfer to railway station, head for Datong, an ancient city with a history of more than 2400 years. Upon arrival, be met and transferred to hotel for check in.
Day 6 Datong (B, L)
Enjoy a full-day tour of the famous Yungang Grottoes, which are ancient Chinese Buddhist temple grottoes near the city of Datong in the province of Shanxi. They are excellent examples of rock-cut architecture and one of the three most famous ancient Buddhist sculptural sites of China. Then go to Huayan Temple, built during the Liao Dynasty (907 - 1125), it is the largest and best preserved monastery of the Liao Dynasty in existence in China. Finally visit Nine Dragon Screen, which is presently the oldest and largest glazed screen in China with a history of 600 years.
Day 7 Datong/Taiyuan / Pingyao (B, L)
Transfer to bus station, be met on arrival in Taiyuan bus station. Go to visit Jinci Temple. It was first built in Northern Wei Dynasty in memory of the founder of the country - Shu Yu. Then continue your trip to Pingyao.
Day 8 Pingyao (B, L)
Today pay a visit to the Ancient Town of Pingyao (UNESCO), a well-preserved ancient Chinese city of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. You will admire the Ancient City Wall built with bricks and stones. Then approach to Rishengchang Bank - the first bank of China, and get impressed by the Old Government Buildings. The courtyard houses, narrow streets and small shops in the city provide a complete picture of China's cultural and social lifestyle during that period of time.
Overnight in Pingyao.
Day 9 Pingyao / Xi'an by Train (B, L)
Visit the Wang Family Courtyard House, located in Jingsheng Town, Lingshi County, 35 kilometers (about 22 miles) from Pingyao, it is an excellent example of Chinese residential architecture style and has been turned into a museum.
In the afternoon, transfer to Pingyao Railway Station for the D train to Xian (about 3 hours). Be met at Xian Rail Station and transferred to your hotel.
Day 10 Xi'an (B, L, D)
Visit Shaanxi History Museum, Ancient City Wall, and Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Go to the Provincial Museum, which boats a large collection of unearthed cultural relics of China. Then walk up the Ancient City Wall, the best-kept and biggest city walls in China--13,912 meters in circumference, 12 meters in height, and the foundation is 18 meters in width and the top of the wall is 15 meters wide. Later, Go to Big Wild Goose Pagoda, situates inside Ci'en Temple (4 kilometers south of Xi'an City), it is one of the famous Buddhist pagodas in China.
Day 11 Xi'an (B, L)
Transfer to visit the famous Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, which is one of the highlight attractions in China. It is significant because of the hundreds of detailed life-size clay warriors and horses of more than 2200 years old. Then drive back to Xian, have a walk at the Old City Quarters where you can experience the real life of local people and appreciate their architecture styles.
Day 12 Xi'an / Guilin (B)
Pick up at the hotel and transfer to airport, fly to Guilin-- home to the most eye-popped natural landscape under the heaven, offering comfortable climate, crystal rivers, spectacular caves, typical karst formations and ever green vegetation. Be met at the airport and transferred to check in hotel.
Day 13 Guilin (B, L)
Today, your sightseeing tour takes you to a tea farm at the city outskirt, where you will see the tea trees and traditional tea ceremony. Drive back to Guilin downtown and visit Elephant Trunk Hill. It is the symbol of Guilin. The shape of the rock is just like a giant elephant drinking water from river with its trunk, hence the name. Standing atop the rock, you can see the beautiful panoramic view of the town. Then pay a visit to Palace of Prince Jingjiang, commonly known as Wang Cheng (Prince City), it was originally the official residence of Zhu Shouqian--the great-nephew of Zhu Yuanzhang (the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty). At last, go to Reed Flute Cave, known as "Natural Art Gallery", it is famous for its fantastic stalactites and stalagmites formation.
Day 14 Guilin/Yangshuo (B, L)
Take a leisurely Li River cruise, disembark at the beautiful small town famous for its Karst landscape--Yangshuo. At Yangshuo, you can have a free afternoon for your own exploration. The ideal way is wander around and go to tourist spots like Moon Hill, Big Banyan and so on. At night, the West Street is a must-go where shows lively nightlife with both Chinese and western style. Besides, you can also go to watch the optional evening show 'Impression Sanjie Liu' on the natural stage along Li River.
Day 15 Guilin / Hong Kong (B)
Pick up at the hotel, transfer to the airport and fly to Hong Kong. Be met at the airport and transferred to check into hotel. The rest of the time is free for your own exploration.
Day 16 Hong Kong / Exit
Pick up at the hotel and transfer to the airport.
End of service.
