These tombs are in Yixian County, 110 km south-west of Beijing. If you didn’t see enough of Dingling, Yuling, Deling, well, there’s always Tailing, Changling, Chongling and Muling – the latter four being part of Xiling.
The tomb area is vast and houses the corpses of the emperors, empresses and other members and hangers-on of the royal family. The tomb of Emperor Guangxu (Chongling) has been excavated – his was the last imperial tomb and was constructed between 1905 and 1915.
