Yangshuo is a good place to do some souvenir shopping. Good buys include silk jackets, hand-painted T-shirts, scroll paintings, fans and batiks (from Guizhou). Name chops cost￥10 to ￥ 60 on average. Everything on sale should be bargained for. The paintings available in Yangshuo, for example, are generally poor quality (even if you think they look good) and a starting price of ￥150 can easily get below￥100.
If you are in the market for a chop, bear in mind that it is not the size of the stone that is important in determining a price but the quality of the stone itself. Often the smaller pieces are more expensive than the hefty chunks of rock available.
