Hello and greetings Charlie,
After a week of unpacking, catching up with family, organising photos etc., we are now ready to face the ourside world. By the time we had completed our China itinerary we were looking forward to catching up with family and friends but leaving China with a certain sadness after all the wonderful experiences we had enjoyed. I don't rember this feeling on any other trip we have done.Much of this is due to the excellent planning and attention to detail that was provided by you and Easy China Tours so we would have no hesitation in recommendig you to any of our friends. Little things like the bike ride on the Xian Wall and the cooking lesson in your hometown, Guilin, all helped broaden our China experience. I fear that our friends will soon tire of our enthusiastic reports on our China adventures long before we tire of telling them!
We are also most appreciative of the personal interest you offered in locating a possible towns linled to my great grandfather and it appears that your lead in linking 余 and "Yee" with Taishan, and locating Chung Lou has been extremely helpful so thanks to you and whoever else might have been involved for this excellent research. Our guide in Guangzhou, Xia, has already been in touch with us to say that she has no word to date and will make contact in a week's time if she has not heard any news, which is great.
I have attached photos of the night we shared with you and Sandy over dinner which also bring back very pleasant memories, so hankyou for that too. Finally we have been really impressed with the economic progress in China, especially given my background as a regional economist, its very friendly people and the people we came across working in the hospitality industry who made our stay such a pleasure.
