Hi Silvia,
Thank you so much for organizing our tour of China.
Everything went well, and we had a wonderful time. And thank you again for treating us for dinner in Guilin-it was a delightful evening.
The Guides and Drivers worked out very well. There were a few minor hiccups when local tour organizers changed guides but their replacements worked out well, even in Chongqing where the guide stepped in at the last moment and had not been fully briefed as to our itinerary but then did an admirable job filling in our time, except for the planned hot pot dinner and which you made sure we had in Shanghai.
In fact Chongqing was the only place where the itinerary planned went off the rails as the Three Gorges Museum was closed as it was Monday and as the water in the Yangtze was so low we could not embark as you had planned but had to take a three hour coach drive to embark. That was not a good day, but it was the only one on our whole tour.
For us the highlights of our visit were Pingyao, Lijiang, Guilin and Yangshuo and the Li River Cruise and Hangzhou. Of course the Terra Cotta warriors, the Great Wall, Forbidden City, and Tiananmen Square are must sees but to our mind they paled compared to getting to seeing the less popular tourist sights you had arranged.
If we had any disappointment it was the Three Gorge Cruise as a combination of not good weather and less than five star ( more like three star) accommodation on the Victoria Cruise less enjoyable than we hoped.
Thank you so much for arranging what my wife and I feel was a wonderful vacation and chance to see the many and various aspects of China. It is rare having visited a country that I say I will go back, but in the case of China I certainly would.
Again you did a wonderful job.
