Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by your local tour guide. And then be transferred to hotel by private vehicle. Check in at your hotel and enjoy the rest time at leisure to relax and explore the charming city.

After breakfast, you will be picked up from hotel for a full day city sightseeing. The first stop is Yuexiu Park. As the largest park in Guangzhou, Yuexiu Park covers 93 hectares including some well-known attractions like the Sculpture of the Five Rams and the Zhenhai Tower. The Sculpture of the Five Rams built in 1959 is the symbol of Guangzhou. Then we visit the Chen Family Temple. It was established during the Qing dynasty in 1894 with funding from members of 72 Chen clans, and thus served to accommodate the families' young candidates as they prepared for the imperial examinations.

You will have typical Cantonese Zaocha style meal for lunch. In the afternoon, visit Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Memorial Hall and Shamian Island. Shamian Island was divided into two concessions given to France and the United Kingdom by the Qing government in the 19th century. Later, go to Beijing Road for a snack hunting and then take local water taxi from Tianzi Pier to Canton Tower Pier. You can choose to take a Canton Tower trip at own expenses. From the sightseeing floor, you can have a bird view of the whole city. Transfer back to hotel afterwards.

At an appropriate time, be transferred to rail station, take bullet train to Sanjiang (3.5 hours). Upon arrival, you will be met by local guide and transfer to a clean and comfortable guest house. Situated in Chengyang Village, the Lost World Sanjiang Guest House sits on renovated 150 years old stilted wood house. With an aim to protect the disappearing traditional houses, architect Ian of Secret Garden Yangshuo designed comfortable rooms and restaurant/bar. If you like the idea of staying in a living village, with a window on local life, this is a perfect option and quite a rare gem.

Chengyang village is made up of 8 small villages, the houses are all made of wood. Inside the village you will find traditional dwellings, Drum-Towers, and wind and rain bridges. The wind and rain bridge was built in 1916, but you will be amazed that the bridge was constructed using not a single nail or rivet! Pieces of wood are closely jointed to each other. Though decades old, it is still very sturdy and in use.

Breathing fresh air in the village, and continue your exploration at villages. Transfer to Buyang village and visit the large-scale Tea Plantation. A local tea specialist will welcome you and takes you go inside the tea plantation, you will experience tea-picking, and see the process of stir-frying tea. Afterwards, the tea specialist will show you the art of tea ceremony and introduce you the proper way to taste tea.

After lunch, proceed to Longji, where you can see the spectacular Rice Terraces. Longji was mainly built in 15th Century and extends from 300m to 1100m (984 to 3608 ft) above sea level, resembling a giant dragon’s backbone. On way you will visit the Huangluo Yao Ethnic Village, a world famous Long-hair Village. Walk for about 30 minutes from the parking lot to your hotel in Ping An Village along a flagstone road, check in your hotel and have a rest. Then walk around to take photos and view sunset is weather permits.

Visit Longji Rice Terraces in summer

View sunrise if weather permits. This morning you will set out to explore the surrounding rice terraces, stopping off at viewpoints 1 & 2, and meeting some of the minority people that inhabit the hilltop villages. Set off on a leisure walking tour to Ancient Zhuang Village where you can see how the Yao hill tribe people live in these scenic hills. You will get wonderful views of the area as you walk.

Afterward go ahead to Yangshuo, a small county bordering the beautiful Li River at one side, situated on a small plain between numbers of karst peaks. The rest of time is free for your own exploration at the charming town.

Today the transportation will be bicycles, which are more flexible. You will pass through local villages, paddy fields and the unique hills; stop at river bank for photos. The cycling route is from Liugong village to Musan village. Both Liugong village and Mushan village are rightly located on bank of Li River, introducing typical dwelling houses hundreds years ago. From south to north of the Li River, the cycling time is around 1.5hrs, depending on your own speed.

After a good rest at noon, you will head for a rafting trip down the Yulong River before the sunset. It’s a good timing to avoid the crowds and heat, get a peaceful mood when siting on the raft and enjoying the picturesque scenery.
