Day

Fly into Vietnam and land at HCM airport. Your local guide and driver will meet and welcome you at the designated exit. Transfer with a private vehicle to your hotel in the downtown HCM City. Spend the rest of the day relaxing at hotel or explore Ho Chi Minh (which is still called Sai gon by many locals) on your own.

Today we will make a visit to Cu Chi Tunnel, a comprehensive network of tunnels, stretching for more than 200km. The Cu Chi tunnels played a crucial role in the U.S.-Vietnam War and became legendary of Ho Chi Minh City during the 1960s. At that time, the tunnels allowed the Viet Cong to control a large rural area only 30 to 40 km from Saigon. In its heyday, the tunnel system extended from Saigon to the Cambodian border.

The network, parts of which were several floors deep underground, included numerous trap doors, specifically constructed residential areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, combat hospitals, command centers and kitchens. In nowadays, the remaining tunnels have become a famous tourist attraction in Ho Chi Minh giving the visitors a unique and unforgetable experience to live underground like during the war. The tunnels have been widened to benefit local people (otherwise we are not allowed to enter the “Tunnel World”). If you wish, you may even take the rare opportunity to try an AK47 or MK16 at the nearby rifle range.

After Lunch, enjoy a half-day Ho Chi Minh city tour. Explore this bustling metropolis, experiencing the wonderful contradiction of its northern counterpart, and getting excited by numerous shopping malls, centers and sidewalk cafés. Savor up local history and culture by visiting the Notre Dame Cathedral, Old Sai gon Post Office, war remnants Museum. Overnight at hotel in Ho Chi Minh.
