Gansu is a historical and amazing destination in China which is rarely visited by foreigners. Take the 7-day Essence of Gansu Tours to visit the capital city Lanzhou, grand Jiayuguan Fort and ancient stops of Silk Road – Dunhuang to explore the historical sites in Northwest China.

Upon arrival, our local guide will pick you up at the airport and transfer to the hotel. If time permits, go and visit Whiter Pagoda Hill for a panoramic view of the city.

Drive to Bingling Temple. Take speed-boat to cross Yellow River (Liujiaxia Reservoir) to explore Bingling Temple Grottoes, which was first built in 420AD with its 1600+ years old history. Same way back to Lanzhou in the later afternoon.

Drive to Wuwei and visit the Leitai Tomb of Han Dynasty and the ancient Wuwei Confucius Temple. Finally drive to Zhangye for overnight stay.

In the morning, you will see the Giant Buddha Temple (Dafosi) and Wooden Pagoda Temple. Continue your trip to Jiayuguan.

Visit Jiayuguan Fort, which is the west end of the Great Wall built in Ming Dynasty. It is the most magnificent and best-preserved ancient military fort in China. You can also visit the Great Wall Museum at the gate tower. After a visit to Overhanging Great Wall, then proceed to Dunhuang by private transfer.

Transfer to visit Mingsha Sand Dunes, and ride a camel to the Crescent Lake. After lunch, explore Mogao Caves, one of the greatest archaeological discoveries in China.
