You’ll have 4 days to explore Huangshan areas and get yourself a fabulous natural and cultural experience by hiking on Yellow Mountain, venturing into ancient villages of Hongcun and Xidi, strolling in a bamboo forest in Shexian Country, and learning about the mysterious technology of Wan’an compass.

Day

Upon arrival in Huangshan City, your guide and driver will meet you in the airport and transfer you to visit Tunxi Old Street. Initially built in the Song Dynasty, the 1272-meter-long Tunxi Old Street is lined with more than 300 blocks of Huizhou architecture, and known as “Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival”.

Head for Shexian Country and visit Lingshan Village, where there is a Lingshan Ancient Water Street, 3 miles long and 1 meter wide, and paved by blue flagstone. The water street is surrounded by a vast bamboo grove, named Lingshan Zhuhai (Lingshan Bamboo Forest). With the bamboo, Lingshan people make themselves bamboo household, bamboo basket, bamboo hat, dustpan, etc. Drive for about 1 hour and reach the Yellow Mountain. Take cable car up the mountain to visit Cloud-Dispelling Pavilion, and The grand canyon of Xihai (the West Sea). Stay overnight at the top of Yellow Mountain

Get up early in the morning and enjoy the stunning sunrise,hike on Yellow Mountain to the Flying Over Rock, Bright-Top Peak and Lion Peak. After Lunch, visit Begin-to-Believe Peak, and then take Yungu cable car down the mountain. Drive to visit Yi County for the Hongcun Village. It has always enjoyed the name of "a village on the Chinese painting". The village was wonderfully designed and constructed in the shape of a buffalo. Afterwards, we will proceed to Xidi Village, located southeast of Yixian County. It extends 700 meters from east to west and 300 meters from north to south, with hundreds of Huizhou style dwellings dating back to Ming and Qing dynasties.

Further explore Xidi Village, and then drive to visit Wan’an Luopan (compass) Museum. The Wan'an compass emerged at the end of the Yuan Dynasty(1279-1368, and had its prosperous time during the middle period of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). It inherited China's traditional compass manufacturing techniques, and formed its own strict production process. Explore the museum to find out how a traditional Chinese compass was made. Your guide and driver will escort you to the airport and fly to your next destination.
