To experience Southeastern Asia, we will start the China train tour from Danang in Vietnam. Explore the national customs and culture of Vietnam, view the historical sites of the former French Vietnamese period at the same time. Enjoy your China tour from Guilin with the fascinate scenery of Li River, then head north to Wuhan, Xian, Pingyao and Beijing. See a modern China coexisting with history culture by visiting Pingyao Ancient Town, Terracotta Warriors, Forbidden City, the Great Wall… You can also discover Mongolia in this tour. Have a local family visit and visit must-see places such as Giant Chinggis statue, Hustai National Park, ruins of Tumen Amgalant Palace, etc, to find out a real Mongolia life.

Upon your arrival at Danang airport, reception by your tour guide and transfer to the hotel in Hoian (30KM / 1 hour). 

After having Breakfast at hotel, check out to meet your tour guide at the hotel reception and we start to explore the ancient town of Hoian including: Kwan Temple, PhucKien Chinese Assembly Hall, Tan Ky old house, Japanese Covered Bridge and the Historic & Cultural Museum in Hoian. Then transfer to Danang Railway station for a local train to Hue. After that, take a local train to Hue. Arrive at Hue Railway station and transfer to the hotel. Overnight in Hue.

Check-out your hotel. Meet your tour guide at the hotel reception and today we will visit the ancient capital of Hue. The visit starts from Hue Citadel. Ngo Mon gate where Bao Dai ended Nguyen dynasty, Thai Hoa Palace (Palace of Supreme Harmony), Hallof the Mandarins, and the Forbidden Purple city. Then go to Tu Duc Tomb with a brief stop at an incense village, Khai Dinh tomb. After that, finish the day with a visit to Thien Mu Pagoda: built on a hillock overlooking the PerfumeRiver, this pagoda is an icon of Vietnam and the symbol of Hue city. Cruise the beautiful perfume river by dragon boat viewing daily life along the way. Transfer to Hue airport for a flight to Hanoi (1 hour 15 minutes). Arrival Hanoi airport, reception by your local tour guide and transfer to the city (45 - 60 minutes). Overnight in Hanoi.

Your tour guide will pick you up at the hotel reception and transfer you to Halong Bay via new highway. After your arrival in Halong, board your private boat for a beautiful cruise along Halong Bay (4 hours), a world heritage site recognised by UNESCO in 1994. You will also visit some magical grottoes and relax in the best scenic beauty Vietnam has to offer. A fresh seafood lunch is served on board. Enjoy a short city tour of Halong Bay after disembarkation. Disembark at around 4pm and return to Hanoi via new highway. Arrival and free time at your own leisure. Overnight in Hanoi.

Check out after breakfast. You will visit the Temple of Literature – Vietnam’s first university. Then go to the peaceful West Lake (with lovers street Thanh Nien), the sedate Tran Quoc Pagoda and Quan Thanh Temple. Later have a photo stop at Ba Dinh Square and Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (outside). Go to the Ethnology Museum (closed on Monday, will replaced by the Fine Arts Museum) Take a breezy electric car ride through the Old Quarter’s 36 streets, named after the products that were sold from their shops. Finally you will enjoy a delightful water puppet show, a traditional art that is still being performed today. In the end, transfer to Gia Lam railway station for the overnight train to Nanning / Guilin.

>>Note: Local train from Danang to Hue: it takes around 2,5 hours and the schedule is subject to train without prior notice (as this train comes from Hanoi, not from Danang).

>>Night train Hanoi to Guilin: this train does not operates in July, August. And it operates only on Tuesday and Friday.

Unique Water Puppet Show in Vietnam

Be met at rail station and transfer to hotel check in. The rest time free at leisure.

Set sail with a cruise ship on Li River, one of the most beautiful rivers on Earth, featuring ever-changing karst scenery. If you happen to have a Chinese 20-yuan note, figure out the sight Illustrated on the note. Disembark in Yangshuo, a paradise in South China. Explore Yangshuo countryside on two wheels (if you don’t prefer the bike trip, your private vehicle is able available), to be embraced by intoxicating landscape: limestone peaks, farm lands, orchard, rivers… Visit a local family house if you wish. You may have drinks at the West Street at night.

Drive back to Guilin and visit Reed Flute Cave located on the halfway of a hill. Inside the cave, you’re supposed to be marveled by various shapes of stalactites and stalagmites. Then take afternoon train to Wuhan. Overnight in Wuhan.

Have a full day of Wuhan city tour. First visit Yellow Crane Tower, which is one of the most famous towers in south of Yangtze River. It becomes a symbol of Wuhan and a must-see for travelers. Next visit East Lake. Various flowers and trees are around East Lake, people can see flowers blooming all the year round, such as, orchids in spring, lotus in summer, osmanthus in autumn, and plum in winter. Different seasons can give visitors different enjoyment. Walk to Hubei Provincial Museum to see the most important collection of cultural artifacts in the province. Then go to Huhan Yangtze River Bridge and Revolutionary Memorial Hall of 1911. Then walk along Hubu Lane, try some classical Huhan style food.

Check out in the morning, and then take speed train to Xi’an. Afternoon, visit Ancient City Wall of Xian. Get in China’s longest and best preserved ancient city wall with the sunset to view the city’s glorious past and amazing new development. You’re suggested to ride a bike on the mighty wall.

Visit the most famous Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, one of the top attractions in China. It is so significant because the hundreds of detailed life-size models represent the army that triumphed over all other Chinese armies and who were the decisive factor in forming a united China. If you prefer, make yourself a mini terracotta warrior with clay at a local cave house, and bring it home. Then admire the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Built by Master Xuanzang during Tang Dynasty, it has been the iconic landmark of Xian. In the end, walk along Muslim Quarter, this is the most popular and busiest street in Xian with a various of specialty and food.

Take high speed train to Pingyao in the morning. Afternoon, visit Pingyao Ancient Town with Rishengchang Exchange Shop, Pingyao Old City Wall, etc.

After breakfast, drive 45km to visit Shuanglin Temple( Double Forest Temple), Wang Family Courtyard. Wang Family Compound is a masterpiece of Oriental domestic architecture. The compound had been built successively during the periods of Kangxi, Yongzheng, Qianlong and Jiaqing Emperors of Qing Dyansty (1644-1911). Then transfer to train station to head for Beijing.

Morning, walk across Tiananmen Square, you will have chance to see the biggest square in the world. On the way, you can also see the Memorial of Mao Zedong and Monument to the People's Heroes. Then you will get to the Forbidden City. It is one of the must-see historical sites in China. This in depth tour will show you the palace where 24 emperors' once reigned during the Ming and Qing dynasties with a history of around 600 years. In the end, visit Hutongs at Shichahai area. Take a pedicab to see the alleyways which are known for their old Beijing buildings as a window of folk culture.

The Great Wall is one of the 7th wonders of the world, which you couldn’t miss. Today your first stop will begin from the Great Wall at Mutianyu section. You can explore this great humanity project by a half day hiking at this the most beautiful section with dense woods and rich pastures. Cable car is available on your expense. Afterwards, transfer back to downtown to visit 798 Art Zone. It is an artistic community based in some disused, Mao-era factories, and its main concentration is contemporary art galleries, art bookshops and cafes.

Mutianyu Great Wall with Flowers

On the early morning, go to the Temple of Heaven, which is the largest ancient imperial worship architecture group in the world where the ancient Emperors prayed for peace and harvest. And now, it becomes an active park for people to do morning exercise. You can find the locals practice Tai Chi here, if you’re interested, you can also join them like a local Beijinger. If you like Beijing old things or handicrafts, you can pay a visit to Panjiayuan Market on weekends. Then, visit the Summer Palace, which is regarded as a museum of gardens in China. Walk around this most beautiful and largest Chinese imperial garden for a while.

Morning, free at leisure. Then you will be escorted to train station, take an overnight train to Ulaanbaatar.

After your arrival, transfer to visit Gun Galuut Nature Reserve after breakfast in hotel. Enjoy the scenery on the way and you can stop to take photos. Visit the world’s largest equestrian monument – a far sighted Genghis Khan on horseback. Arrive in Gun-Galuut and transfer to Steppe Nomads tourist camp. Hike or ride horses to Mt. Baits to try to view the gorgeous Argali mountain sheep (if lucky) and the White Napped Crane, Whooper Swan and other birds. Home visit to local nomadic family in the area to explore their way of life. You have chance to learn to make Aaruul (curd) with nomads. Return to the camp, dinner and overnight.

Family Visiting in Mongolia

Today, we head to Hustai National Park, a member of the world biosphere network of natural reserves certified by the Man and the Biosphere Reserves organization of UNESCO. The Takhi wild horses in this park is the last remaining wild horses on earth. You can see them graze peacefully with other wildlife. Hike around and enjoy the beautiful serene nature.

This morning, you will be transferred to Karakorum, the capital of the Mongol Empire between 1235 and 1260, and of the Northern Yuan in the 14–15th centuries. Visit the historic sites such as the legendary Erdene- Zuu monastery and its surroundings like ruins of Tumen Amgalant Palace, Museum of Karakorum and King’s Monument. Admire the breathtaking UNESCO world heritage site Orkhon valley, as representing the evolution of nomadic pastoral traditions spanning more than two millennia.

Young Monks in Erdenezuu Monastery

Continue our excursion to Elsen Tasarkhai through the green grassland, and arrive at the stunning sand dunes, streams and rocky mountains. Here, you will enjoy a camel riding for 1hr, hike through Hugnu Khan Mountain and Erdenehamba. Visit nomadic families to learn their ways to tend their livestock and live within the harmony with the mother nature.

Transfer back to Ulaanbaatar after breakfast and arrive at lunch time. This afternoon, you will start the city tour of Ulaanbaatar, which takes you through some of the principal sights of this unique city. You visit the Gandan Monastery, housing a 26 meter high gilded statue of the Buddha. Then we take a tour to Ger district near where you will see part of rural lifestyle. Visit Narantuul black market, the biggest open-air market of Mongolia. It’s a good place to make your last minute shopping before leaving Mongolia. Transfer to the hotel for check in. Dinner at local restaurant.

Private transfer to airport or train station, you may continue your trans-country train journey from Ulaanbaatar to Irkutsk and even Moscow by taking the Trans Iberian Train and explore Russia. Welcome to China next time!
