Be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel at downtown. Free at leisure for rest of the day.

Private escorted tour Temple of Heaven which is one of Beijing's most impressive sites in terms of architecture, color and significance and was used by Emperor to communicate directly with Heaven. After visiting it, we go to the most famous and representative square--Tiananmen Square, the world's largest city center square and the center of Beijing. And then go to the Forbidden City, officially known as the Imperial Palace Museum. It is the supreme model in the development of ancient Chinese palaces, providing insight into the social development of late dynastic China, especially the ritual and court culture. At night, a tasty Peking duck dinner is well-prepared.

Private excursion to the Great Wall at Mutianyu today. The Great Wall is one of the great wonders in the world and the symbol of China. Mutianyu is 70km from city center and it takes around 1.5hrs from your hotel. This section of the Great Wall was built in Ming Dynasty was used to serve as the northern barrier defending the capital and the imperial tombs. You will take around 2-3 hours to walk on the 2.5km walls and 23 towers. Return to downtown in the afternoon, have a food tour at Niujie (Oxen Street). Niujie is a central religious and social gathering place for Beijing's 250,000 Muslims and it is famous for the Niujie Mosque. But now, it is a well-know snack street for local people and tourists.

OPTIONAL DINNER

For foodies, don’t miss the Beijing Roasted Duck at dinner time.

This morning, you will go for a Hutong tour after breakfast. Hutongs are unique street design in Beijing and regarded as a window into Beijing folk life. Make a home visit to a local Beijingers and learn how to draw a mask for Peking Opera. Take high speed train to Xian in the afternoon.

Visit the Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses Museum in the morning, which is one of the most important archaeological finds in the 20th century, and a UNESCO World Heritage. Drive back to downtown area and visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, it was first built in Tang Dynasty for the storage of Buddhist scriptures taken from India by Monk Xuanzang and now becomes the city emblem. Later, at the square close to the park, you will have chance to view the Musical Fountain Show. Adjacent Datang Nightless City is one of the most iconic landmarks in Xian and even China. You can view Tang Dynasty style buildings, try different snacks and foods, shop for souveniors or rent and wear a traditional Hanfu dress while stroll the city.

In the morning, visit to the Ancient City Wall of Xian, the best-kept and biggest city walls in China. You may have a bike riding on the city walls (optional and on your own expense) and experience the old and modern Xian. Later, go to Muslim Quarters for a stroll, where you will visit the Bell Tower and the Grand Mosque. Take high speed train to Chengdu in the sfternoon.

After breakfast, you will be transfered to Leshan by private car (about 120KM from Chengdu). Today you will first visit the Leshan Giant Buddha, the largest stone-carved Buddha sculpture in the world. The Giant Buddha is about 71 meters high and 24 meters wide (short ship cruise to visit the Buddha will be included). Then go to the Mahao Cliff Tomb, which is a large multi-room tomb excavated in the Eastern Han Dynasty. Transfer back to Chengdu in the afternoon.

OPTIONAL EVENING ACTIVITIES:

Sichuan Opera Show with Face Changing performance.

After breakfast, drive to the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, which is home to nearly 50 pandas. We’ll be there early enough to catch up the time to see these lovely pandas enjoy bamboo for breakfast. In addition, you can also visit the Baby Panda Nursery to see how to take care baby panda. Later, visit a wet market, the place can best reflect Chinese people’s lifestyle. It will offer a great experience for you to see how local people purchase vegetable, fruits, meat and spices for everyday cooking. There is chance to learn spring roll or wonton dumping making from venders. Enjoy an authentic Sichuan cuisine in local restaurant for lunch.

In the afternoon, visit Renmin Park, another place that local people enjoy most – they do activities like playing music and dancing. Enjoy a tea break in local tea house. Later, visit Qingyang Palace to learn Taoist culture of China. At the end of today's trip, you will stroll the famous Kuanzhai Alleys for local snacks.

Transfer to airport for evening flight to Guilin.

Today is a relaxing day during your family trip of China. In the morning, take a Li River cruise leisurely. Bamboo groves, jagged, sharp-edged hills like broken teeth, a wide placid river and peaceful farm and village terrain are along the tour. By the end disembark at the beautiful small town Yangshuo, 65 kilometers to the southeast of Guilin, which is an internationally acclaimed tourist destination. Take a stroll at the West Street in the afternoon. Enjoy Sound & Light Show Impression Liu Sanjie on the Li River (optional)

This morning, you will take a half day tour to explore the coutryside of Yangshuo. You might want to hire a bike to ride along the river and among the Karst hills, or walk along the trail across the villages and rice fields. You will have chance to visit local farmers and chat with them to learn their life. Free at leisure in the afternoon, in which you can take a relaxing Bamboo rafting on Yulong River (optional).

Private transfer to Guilin to take high speed train or flight to Orphanage City today. Prior to your family trip to China, we have submit the orphanage visit application and make sure the visit is confirmed. 

Documents required for Root-seeking Visits to Orphanages:

1. Passport copies of the adoptive parents, adopted child and accompanying person

2. Copy of Adoption Registration Certificate

3. Welfare Institution Visit Application Form (Easy Tour China will help to fill in the form)

Tips for Orphanage Visit by foreign Foreign Adoptive Families

1. The adoptived child must be one of the visitors to the orphanage

2. Since it may be a long time after an adoption, the orphanage might have moved to a new place. We are happy to help if you want to visit the original site of the orphanage.

3. Some adoptive families want to meet with the previous caregiver and foster family. We can try to find the previous caregiver. If you have the name of the caregiver, it will be more helpful. But please be noted that the caregiver might be moved away or be retired. 

4. Preparing gifts for the director, staff and children in the orphanage is a good idea. For kids' gifits, you can consider snacks, candy, toys, books and so on. 

5. If you want to do some donation to the orphanage, you can advise your idea and budget in advance and we help to contact the orphanage. Or you learn it from the director when arrive and then purchase from local market.

If your family want to visit the finding site of the adoptive child, we will try to arrange if possilble. It depends on whether the Notarial Certificate of the finding place is still available. The finding site usually is near the hospital or orphanage, which might be changed as well. 

To explore other places in the city is highly suggested to learn more about the place that the adopted child had lived. You will take train or flight to Shanghai after the exploration.

After breakfast, you will start your Shanghai exploration from Yu Yuan Garden, a traditional Chinese garden inaugurated in the Ming dynasty. The garden has a total area of 20,000 square meters. Walk out from the garden, visit Shanghai old quarters around City God Temple (Chenghuangmiao). In the afternoon, you will visit the Former French Concession, the area of Shanghai once designated for the French, consisting of today's Luwan and Xuhui Districts. Take a walk along the Bund to view the new-erect modern skyscrapers and aged buildings of the colonial period. Tour ends at Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the best viewing spot of Shanghai located by the Huangpu River (from the sightseeing floor at 263 meters).
