Upon arrival in Beijing, your local tour guide will meet and greet you at the airport and transfer to your hotel at downtown. It’s a worry-free trip: you take good care of your kids, while your guide will help you with the luggage and everything. Your first day in Beijing is for your acclimation, take your time to relax and have a good rest.

After a sound sleep and a good breakfast, your family will be picked up and drive to China’s most famous and representative square--Tiananmen Square, which is the heart of Beijing and the world's largest city center square. And then go to the Forbidden City, which is officially known as the Imperial Palace Museum and has a long history over 500 years. Both you and the kids can learn some history and legendary stories in this museum. Then climb a little bit to get to the top of Jingshan Mountain, here you will be rewarded an amazing panoramic view of Forbidden City.

Later in this afternoon, come to Hutong for the old folk parts of Beijing and have fun by learning to apply facial makeup for Peking Opera. We arrange you a delicious and special Peking duck dinner for tonight’s dinner, which was a royal dish in ancient Beijing. Afterwards, Kung Fu show is especially prepared for the kids (optional).

China Family tour

Today, you are going to see one of world’s most important cultural and historical legacies – the Great Wall. Take cable car up to the top of Mutianyu Great Wall. Enjoy the spectacular mountain view and get to know how this magnificent structure was made it. When children walk through the worn-out beacon towers, they can imagine what an ancient war was like. We arrange you a picnic lunch on the Great Wall. Too much history for kids today? Enjoy the simple fun taking the Toboggan slide down Great Wall. Mutianyu Great Wall tour with family

Private escorted tour to Temple of Heaven, which is one of Beijing's most impressive sites in terms of architecture, color and significance and was used by Emperor to communicate directly with Heaven. It is also a beautiful and fun park for kids: local people gather together, singing, dancing, practicing Taiji, playing shuttlecock and doing other activities. Take afternoon high speed train from Beijing to Xi'an. Arrive at Xian. Be met & transferred to your hotel to check-in.

Beijing family tour

The famous Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum is the tour highlight today. It's often referred to as the eighth wonder of the world, which is an enormous collection of vivid Chinese warriors made out of hardened clay. If it is possible, we will arrang your family a class to learn to make mini warriors with clay - a lot of fun for kids. In the afternoon, get some outdoor exercise on Xian’s Old City Wall -- the most intact ancient Chinese wall in existence. It encircles and protects the ancient part of Xian City. If weather permits, a bike ride is available. This is the best way to see the grandness and simple beauty of the old wall. And both parents and children can exercise their feet. Then a walk at the old quarters of the city is also in plan for you to experience the real life of Xian people.

Note: Biking on Xian Old City Wall is only allowed for children above 10 years old or taller than 1.4 meters (4.6 feet). If your child is too young to ride a bike, you can have a relaxing walk instead or take a golf cart.

Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum

After breakfast at hotel, transfer to visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda: the city emblem, which was first built in Tang Dynasty for the storage of Buddhist scriptures taken from India by Monk Xuanzang. In Xian, the must-eat foods are noodles and dumpling which are the most outstanding flavor of Northwest part of China.

Thus, after visiting the pagoda, we go to learn how to make Chinese noodles or dumplings at a local family house. Make friends and with the family and enjoy your hand-made noodles/dumplings for lunch. Transfer to airport and take afternoon flight to Shanghai. Your Shanghai local guide will meet you at the airport’s arrival hall and transfer to hotel for check-in.

Shanghai city highlight tour today is for your family to see both the history and modern parts of the city. It begins with the visit to Yu Garden, the only fully restored classical Chinese garden in Shanghai. Numerous rock and tree garden areas, ponds, walls and bridges separating various garden areas and pavilions are its features. Further stroll around Town God Temple to enjoy the old Shanghai atmosphere and all kinds of snacks, and marvel at its magnificent architecture.

Then go and explore the former French Concession. It is now a pedestrian street composed of traditional street format of Shanghai Shikumen and modern development. Later go across People's Square and visit Shanghai Museum, museum of Chinese art, with a collection of more than 120,000 rare cultural pieces. Visitors are encouraged to rent the earphone for better English explanation of the museum and its cultural items (fee for the earphone is at your own expense).

Lastly, visit the Bund. It is the famous waterfront to see aged buildings of the colonial period and new-erect modern skyscrapers like Shanghai Tower, Oriental Pearl TV Tower, which are also landmarks of prosperous Shanghai. The children can compare with the dramatic changes between the traditional and modern China.

China family tour to Shanghai the Bund

Free day today for your own exploration in Shanghai, you can shop in Nanjing Road, wander around the old parts of Shanghai, or visit to the nearby water towns.

Attractions and activities to recommend:

Shanghai Disneyland Park - the third largest among all the Disney theme parks with seven fantastic themed lands, promises a magical journey and a memorable experience for everyone.

Nanjing Road - 5.5 km in full length, enjoys the reputation as China No. 1 commercial center. It was the earliest commercial street along the Bund in Shanghai since the city opened to the outside world.

Zhujiajiao Water Town - 50 kilometers away from the city center, the town features beautiful waterways, arched stone bridges, ancient streets paved with stone, and more than 10,000 houses dating back to Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties.

Shanghai day tour to Suzhou - 30 minutes’ bullet train journey from Shanghai, Suzhou is an elegant cultural city, and famous for its a hundred classical gardens and an ancient Grand Canal (a boat trip is recommended).
