Day
After arrival in Beijing, you will be met at the airport for the transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is for leisure.

Today, we will enjoy a history and culture tour at the Forbidden City, which is officially known as the Imperial Palace Museum and has a long history over 500 years. Then climb up for 5-10 minutes to the top of Jingshan Park. Covering an area of more than 230,000m², Jingshan is immediately north of the Forbidden City on the central axis of Beijing and offers a full picture of the magnificent Forbidden City. Later, take a 3-wheel rickshaw to Hutong (Beijing’s traditional alleyways) to see the local people's life and this tour will actually show old Beijing’s timeless best to you.

  • The Forbidden City closes on each Monday, your tour consultant will helps you to adjust the tour itinerary if it happens to be Monday. 

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES

  • Beijing Kung Fu Show: A rare chance to watch the real Shaolin Kung Fu. The performers are the best and have mastered the difficult moves. 
  • Beijing Opera Show: It is one of the most famous traditional Chinese opera. The artists wear heavy make-up and act out the legends and romance with their unique style of singing and dance.

Hutong pedcab tour

Drive to the Jinshanling Great Wall of China, a less visited section which is justifiably famous and breathtaking. It connects to the Simatai section of the wall in the east and Gubeikou section in the west. Enjoy yourself walking on the eroded walls, through beacon tower, to learn its history, marvel at the wisdom and diligence of the ancients and take in great mountain views. The duration of the hike can be adjusted from 2 to 4 hours.

Jinshanling Great Wall walking

In the morning, proceed to Temple of Heaven, included in the World Heritage List in 1998, it is well-preserved Altars buildings. Now, it becomes a park for local activities. If you visit early, you will see many kinds of morning exercises in China, like Tai Chi, square dance and so forth. If you are interested, you can join them and learn from the locals. After the visit, transfer to rail station and take a bullet train to Xian. Be met and transferred to the hotel.

Transfer to visit Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum. It is known as the eighth wonder of the world and a museum to display terra-cotta warriors and horses in Qin Dynasty. Then go to the Ancient City Wall, which is the best kept and biggest city wall in China. Later, stroll at local Muslim Quarter and get close to Muslim people. Muslim Quarter is paradise for food buffs; it gathers a great variety of local cuisines, they will go beyond what you know about Muslim food!

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES

  • Cycling on the Ancient City Wall - You can rent a bike at City Wall on your own for 1.5-2 hours’ cycling. What an unforgettable experience. Besides, you can know more about the City Wall. 
  • Tang Dynasty Singing and Dancing Show - A wonderful performance of the ancient music and dance. This is also a good way know more about the ancient Tang dynasty and some more history and art of that period.

Terracotta Army

Fly to Guilin and transfer to Longji Rice Terraces Area. Explore the Longji Rice Terraces - the terraces look like great chains or ribbons winding from the foot to the top of the mountain. You will first visit Ping’an Village. Walk to scenic platforms to enjoy a panorama view of rice terraces. These ingenious constructions make best use of the scarce arable land and water resources in the mountainous area. Then, take your time to explore minority life in ancient Zhuang Village if time allows. Stay overnight at local guesthouse in Ping’an Village.

Longji Rice Terraces

If the weather is fine, watch the sunrise from rice terraces in the early morning. After a nice breakfast, you will start the challenge hiking trail from Ping'an Village to Dazhai Village (5hrs). With enjoying the bird sights of terraces, you will reach the half way at Zhongliu. It’s a Yao village; it will be a good experience to have local Oil Tea lunch in a family restaurant. After a short break, continue to hike. In the afternoon, reach Dazhai village and see Jinkeng Rice Terraces. Then drive back to Guilin. Visit Reed Flute Cave, inside which is a spectacular world of various stalactites, stone pillars and rock formations created by carbonate deposition.

In the morning, you will be transferred to Shangnei and begin a fantastic day of your walking trip (5 hours). Shangnei is a village with lovely hills and fields. Follow the ancient path, you will come to the river bank. Walk along the Li River (20km) with stunning landscape, which has inspired Chinese artists for thousands of years. Steep yourself in the picturesque and idyllic Li River view on the hiking. Have lunch in a local family restaurant and have a rest. The rest of the trail will be easier and relaxing, enjoy the process! After arrival in Xingping, you will be picked up and transferred to Yangshuo. Free time for the rest of the day.

  •  Impression Liusanjie Show – An open-air live show beside Li River of Yangshuo, it introduces the beautiful scenery of Li River, the colorful culture of the ethnic groups in Guangxi and the brave imagination of the excellent artists in China.

Li River Hiking

Today, we transfer to Yulong Bridge for a lovely walk alongside the Yulong River. Known as Little Li River, it’s one of the top scenic spots in Yangshuo. We follow the trail through the Yangshuo countryside full of fields, steams, old bridges and hills, to the Outside Inn café for lunch. After lunch, return to Yangshuo for free time to explore the town. Enjoy yourself by wander in West Street where it is a good place to taste delicious local food, like Boiled Fish with Beer, or have a glass of beer in the bar, finding some foreign residents to talk about their life in this relaxing county.

Yulong River walking

Free time in Yangshuo in the morning. Then transfer to Guilin airport and fly to Hangzhou. The rest time is for your own exploration in Hangzhou.

  Suggestions for Your Leisure Time 

  • Cooking class: The cooking class starts by visiting local wet market, you can see various types of vegetables, meats and other ingredients. After that, go back to the cooking school and began to learn some popular Yangshuo dishes in an easy and interesting way.
  • Tai Chi lesson: The stunning landscape makes Yangshuo an ideal place to practice Tai Chi. You can take one hour class to unveil mysterious Chinese martial art and learn Taichi as a beginner. It is a kind of gentle Kungfu that everyone can do it and reap its benefits in China.
  • Yangshuo Countryside tour by cycling: The countryside landscape and terrain make Yangshuo a perfect place to bike. You will pass through local villages, paddy fields and the unique hills. Besides, family visits can be arranged on the way, and you can learn more about China’s vast rural world from local villagers.

Longjing tea or Dragon Well tea is a famous variety of green tea from Hangzhou. The tea is grown in the mountain area southwest of the West Lake, and Longjing Village and Meijiawu Village are two main producing areas of the famous tea. Today, you will take a walking tour in the mountain along the ancient road named Shililangdang trail (十里琅珰) to Longjing Village. Walking starts from Jiuxi, the entrance of Wuyun Hill and walk 2.5km along the steps and trails to the top at 340m. Along the way, you will pass tea farm, bamboo forest and ancient temple. After another 2.3km walking, you will see large area of tea farm and through the farm, walk down to Longji Village. In Spring, villagers are busy with tea picking, processing and trading. Out the village, walk a leisure path named Nine Creeks and Eighteen Gullies (九溪十八涧) to meet your car. Visit China National Tea Museum and enjoy some unique dishes cooked with tea.

In the afternoon, take a boat cruise on West Lake, the most representative highlight in Hangzhou, and also the venue for the G20 opening ceremony’s performance. The lake is wide and calm, reflecting the distant mountains like a Chinese ink painting. Other than these, there are many stories and legends hiding behind the ten scenes of West Lake. You may take more walk on Su Causeway and Bai Causeway, enjoying the breathtaking view along the lake.

Tour finished at Qinghefang Ancient Street. Here specialty snacks, antique paintings and calligraphy, shops gather, best place to choose souvenirs. You will also visit the Chinese Medicine Museum of Hu Qinyu Pharmacy, a China time-honored brand founded by official merchant Hu Xueyan in 1874, during the Qing Dynasty.

West Lake

Board the bullet train from Hangzhou to Huangshan city, and visit Hongcun Village and Xidi Village, where the Oscar Winner "Couching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" was filmed. Walk into the villages, just like putting yourself into a classic Chinese landscape. Wander among the old houses and experience the architecture and art aesthetics of eastern China. Overnight at local featured hotel.

Hongcun Village

Drive to take a cable car up to Yellow Mountain, then walk for a while in the easier section and hike in West Sea Grand Canyon, and explore other scenic spots on the mountain. Find a great position to watch the best-know sights of the sea of clouds on the top of Mount Huangshan. Then, go on the hiking trip till down to the mountain by cable car to walk around a featured old street at Tunxi. In the end, transfer to the train station and head for Shanghai.

Yellow Mountain hiking tour

After breakfast, visit Yu Garden, the only fully restored classical Chinese garden in Shanghai which inaugurated in the Ming dynasty. Numerous rock and tree garden areas, ponds, walls and bridges separating various garden areas and pavilions are its features. Then go to Jade Buddha Temple, which is the most popular Buddhist temple in Shanghai boasting 2 precious jade Buddha sculptures from Burma. Later, walk along the Bund to see the old and new Shanghai at the each side of Huangpu River.

OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES

  • The Acrobatics Show at night- It is not to be missed in Shanghai. Acrobatics is one of the oldest performing arts in China. Here you will see the amazing feats of balance and skill.

Visit the Former French Concession in Shanghai on foot, including Xintiandi, Fuxing Park, Tianzifang Alley, etc. Look for traces of western civilization in Shanghai, a city of cultural integration. Among these western buildings, you can easily find many famous people's memorial halls and featured alleys. The rest of the day is for your own arrangement.

You will be picked up at the appointed time and transferred to the airport and fly to your next destination. Farewell to China!

  • If you take flight from Pudong Airport, you can try the Maglev train from Longyang Station to Pudong Airport. It takes 7min only for the 29.86km distance and highest speed is 431km/hr (267miles/hr).
