On the 4-day Chengdu food tour, crafted perfectly for foodies, you’ll travel to this city of gastronomy in China, discovering the most popular street snacks, sampling Sichuan cuisine with spicy flavors, drinking local-produced tea and beer, and learning cooking Chinese foods. On this trip, you’ll also explore local highlights, meeting with giant pandas!

Head for Chengdu by flight or high speed rail. Be met and greeted by our guide and driver, then transfer with a private vehicle to your hotel in downtown Chengdu. For the rest of the day, you may explore the city on your own pace. Chengdu is a convenient modern city, yet rich in historical and cultural sites, as well as hundreds-old traditions. Chengdu cuisine is part of the Sichuan Cuisine, one of the top eight cuisines in China, which is rich in food materials and featuring various flavors, not ony the spicy.
OPTIONAL CHENGDU EVENING FOOD TOUR
- Local Noodles (Start time daily at 6:30pm) – there are a variety of Chinese noodles to taste.
- Boutique Bar (Start time daily at 4 pm/6:30pm) – join the locals to have fun, drinking beer or a glass of red wine at a bar.
This morning you will go to Chengdu Panda Breeding Center to visit giant pandas, one of the most adorable and rarest creatures in the world. There’s chance that you can see the baby panda taken care in the nursing room. Kid pandas play together on the grassland or in the tree, or they would stay with their mothers. After the visit, you will visit a traditional wet market nearby to see local people buy their everyday foods and how they bargin. You will have chance to learn spring-roll or wonton making. Lunch is prepared at a local restaurant with some popular Sichuan dishes, and supposed to stir up your appetit.
In the afternoon, you will visit Renmin Park, and sip a cup of tea at a tea house. Experience local people’s slow-paced life style and learn some Chinese tea culture. After that, have a relaxing stroll through Kuanzhai Alleys, consist of three parallel Chinese old-style alleys. This is also a good place you can find many local snacks. We will arrange Sichuan Hot Pot for your dinner.
Sichuan Hot Pot is a winter favorite in Sichuan, and a very special treat in summer. The ingredients for hot pots are mainly beef, mutton, seafood, tofu, meat balls and vegetables. The boiling stock of Cantonese hotpot is light in taste, while the Sichuan hotpot features hot and spicy stock to enhance the flavor of the meat and vegetables. Diners choose their own selection of meat and vegetables and dip them into the boiling pot at their table.

- Sichuan Opera or Chuan Opera is a type of local Chinese opera mainly prevailing in Southwestern China's Sichuan province around 1700, with facing changing tricks.

After breakfast at hotel, you will transfer to Sichuan Cuisine Museum in Pixian County, west of Chengdu City. It is world's only living museum with the culture of cuisine on display, where you will learn the history of Sichuan cuisine and discover a lot of ancient cooking utensils at the oddly-looking kitchen. Besides, you will taste some of the famous Sichuan snacks and the local-brew wines at the “food street”.
The cooking class will be arranged in the museum. The chef will demonstate the fabulous skills of cutting and cooking. Then you will learn & cook some classic Sichuan dishes, and exchange cooking experience and knowledge with expert cook.
Afternoon will leisure on your own arrangement.

- Jinli Old Street – the most popular vintage street in Chengdu with laid back ambience, and charming especially at night when the lanterns are lighted.
- Jiuyan Bridge Bar Street – Situated near the Sichuan Conservatory of Music, Jiuyan Bridge is a famous street of bars. There are hundreds of bars here with different styles and sizes.

Enjoy your last minute eating and sightseeing in Chengdu, before transferring to airport /railway station, and move to your next destination. Your 4 days Chengdu food tour ends.
