Huangshan Student Tour with Cultural Exploration

The youngsters will explore Huangshan city highlights, enjoy exciting hike on Yellow Mountain, a paraise hidden in seas of clouds, to discover oddly-shape pine trees and grotesque rocks and peaks. What a magical journey! Then slide into the picturesque villages of Lingshan, Tangmo and Chengkan, where students will not only witness ancient Chinese architectures of Hui style, but also learn local culture with interesting hands-on activities and experimental experience, like bamboo weaving, stele rubbing, pick tea leaves, etc.

Enjoy the breakfast at hotel, and then drive for about 1.5hrs to reach the foot of the Yellow Mountain. Take the cable car at Yungu station up to mountain - a great fun for the students. It’s also a good way to see the outline of the mountain and the vegetation on the mountain. Afterwards, walk around Celestial Capital Peak, Lotus Peak and Bright Top and admire the Sea of Clouds at the best places. And visit the West Sea Grand Canyon which is reputed as the most beautiful and untouched scenic zone of Mt. Huangshan. The energetic boys and girls may feel a bit tired. so take a cable car at Taiping Station and get down the mountain. Finally, drive back to your hotel.

Today, you’ll start village trip by visiting Lingshan Village in Shexian Country. Have a stroll on the Lingshan Ancient Water Street, which is 1100 meters long, 1 meter wide, and paved by the blue flagstone. The village is surrounded by a vast bamboo grove, named Lingshan Bamboo Forest, which is the most famed site here. See how Lingshan people make themselves the bamboo household, bamboo basket, bamboo hat, etc. Then the students will have a chance sitting down and learningto make a bamboo handcraft themselves. After the work, you can keep this authentic Chinese souvenir.
Later, take a short transfer to Tangmo Village. It's a small peaceful village, famous for both its noticing natural landscape and cultural glamour. Unlike Hongcun and Xidi Ancient Villages, It is tranquil and away from crowds of tourists. The highlight of the day must be the special Chinese cultural experience - Stele Rubbing. It’s a kind of printing technology from ancient time. Students will get to know the knowledge and try to make the rubbings personally. Outside the Tangmo Village, a vast area of tea is growing. If it’s the right time (generally in March-May), we will have the chance to pick some tea leaves, and taste a cup of local tea.
At last, we will visit the third village, Chengkan Village. Chengkan was originally built in the Three Kingdoms Period (220-280), and it was designed with the layout of the Eight Trigrams-Kan in I Ching (the Book of Changes). The village resembles a maze owing to the streets and lanes. The students will enjoy its unique layout. In the end, transfer back to hotel.

Free for your own exploration or rest in the morning. At the appropriate time, your guide and driver will pick you up at hotel and escort to the airport/rail station for your next destination. Farewell to Huangshan.
