Arrive in Guilin, a small city in South China with great natural beauty. No matter you’re arriving by plane or train, your private local guide will be ready to meet and welcome you at the arrival hall. And a comfortable vehicle with an experienced driver will escort you to your hotel in Yangshuo through the high speed way. People usually say, “Guilin’s landscape is the best in the world, whiles Yangshuo’s landscape is the best in Guilin.” Today, we will go ahead to this holiday paradise that offers a hearty dose of laidback countryside life and Chinese cultural experience. After breakfast at hotel, we will transfer you to experience the bamboo rafting down Yulong River. Yulong River is a tributary of Li River and a great place to enjoy the stunning karst scenery and pastoral views of Yangshuo. Taking the bamboo raft in the morning can always avoid tourist crowds. Instead of noisy motors on Li River, the bamboo rafts on Yulong River are punted slowly by a man with a pole. That makes the journey more relaxed and enjoyable. (Please note the raft tour is unavailable for people over 70 or less than 7 years old).
In the afternoon, let’s move on to visit Xianggong Mountain, the best spot to have a bird view of Li River and the ever-changing limestone peaks on the shores! Xianggong Mountain is around 28km from Yangshuo and it takes about 45 minutes along the country roads. So if you get travel sick this is something to keep in mind. The mountain is not high, and it takes only 15 minutes to get to the top via stone steps. Steps were uneven in places but a handrail was available for 90% of the way. Standing on the three-storey viewing platform, you will marvel at the gorgeous view.
After that, we get down the mountain and drive to the nearby Tea plantation, which is a nice and quiet place to relax and enjoy a cup of tea. Strolling at the tea plantation, you may see some girls are busy workig on the terraced fields. They are all dressed in folk style clothes, picking tea sprouts. Have a seat at a quaint tea house, aside from sipping tea, you can also watch a refined tea ceremony and get to know more about Chinese culture. If the weather permits, watch the sun sets the tea mountain. Enjoy your relaxed afternoon and we will drive back to your resort at appropriate time.

Wake up with fresh air of Yangshuo, our first stop today is Fuli Ancient Town, which is 8 kilometers away from Yangshuo town center, with a history of over 1000 years. The houses at Fuli Ancient Town were constructed during the late Qing Dynasty, some of them are well preserved and three old pavilions remain intact. Fuli Ancient town is also known as Chinese Painted Fan Town. When you stroll along the ancient street, you will find some workshops where skilled craftsmen are making painted fans. After that, proceed to visit a local market. You cannot get more local than this. Here you can find traditional Yangshuo snacks, a lot of spices, clothes, vegetables, traditional Chinese medicine, etc.
After that, we drive deep into the tranquil countryside, getting close to nature and taking a little bit walk to admire the amazingly beautiful scenery. Your tour guide has prepared champagne or red wine for you. So have a seat at a nice place surrounded by hills or lakes and savor the nature with tranquility. In the countryside, a visit to a local farmer’s house should not be missed. Chatting with the villagers freely (tour guide will do translation for you for sure), you will get to know the stories of their family, the history of the village, local people’s livelihood and so on.
