Upon your arrival at Guilin airport or rail station, you will be greeted by your private tour guide holding a sign with your name at the exit. Later enjoy a private transfer to Guilin rail station for a high speed train to Sanjiang directly. Upon arrival, be met by a local driver at Sanjing rail station, for a private transfer to a guesthouse named Lost World where you will spend 2 nights in. Your exclusive Guilin winter holiday gets started. Accommodations: Lost World Sanjiang (2 nights)
- Lost World Sanjiang is located in Ma'an Villiage in Chengyang Eight Villages Scenic Area. The architect named Ian is from South Africa, who is the co-founder and disigner of the Secret Garden Hotel in Jiuxian Village of Yangshuo. He carefully turned over four old traditional Dong wood buildings with over hundred year age into this Lost World, with the basic rule of protecting the traditional style, and using the original building materials to the maximum. Inside the guest rooms, amenities like soft beds, western toilet & shower, A/C, desks & sofa, coffee/tea facilities are fully equipped. Oil heaters are available as well which are valuable at creating a warm room in winter.
In the morning, you will meet your guide at hotel and be accompanied to visit Chengyang Wind & Rain Bridge. More than 80 years old, this elegantly-covered bridge is considered by the Dong people to be the finest of the 108 such structures in Sanjiang County, and took the local villagers 12 years to build. Have a panoramic view of this area, a lush valley dotted with Dong villages and water wheels.
After walking though the bridge, a primitive Dong village is present in front of you. Eight villages are setting in this area. According to the time, we will visit two or three villages. Walk inside the villages, visit the typical style wooden architecture, the ancient style bridges and drum towers, and discover yourself the old style wells. You can also hike up to the top of the hill by the village for a good panoramic view of the villages.
Get to know the customs of Dong minority people. For examples, in local people’s house, the first floor is for keeping the domestic animals. People live only on the second floor or upper. Traditional tie-dye cloths are hanging in the sunshine everywhere. You will also walk close to their farming field, and surprise to find that fishes are swimming in the water paddy field.
Dong style Oil Tea is local residents’ favorite tea and drinks. You will have a chance to take part in the process of cooking oil tea and enjoy it with local desserts. Besides, you will be escorted to a local tea plantation at the village and given a small bamboo basket to contain the fresh tea leaves. A tea farmer in the village will teach you how to pick tea leaves by hand, and learn the process of stir-frying tea and taste tea at tea house.

In the morning, enjoy leisure hours. Walking around the village and staying in comfortable hotel are both good choices. At an appropriate time, meet the driver and you will be transferred to Sanjiang Rail station for a high speed train to Xingping which takes only one hour. Upon arrival, meet your driver at Xingping rail station and then be transferred to Xingping Ancient Town.Rambling on the Old Street, you will find that the old city wall, slop-roof houses with black tiles are getting along with the new lifestyle; brick-tile structure and historical relics are kept integrated. You can also take public ferry to the fishing village opposit the town and take a walk along the river to view the best part of scenery of Li River. Transfer to Yangshuo after the visit.
Optional Activity in Xingping:
- Li River Cruise by Bamboo Boat - a cuise on the Li River from Xingping to Nine Horse Fresco Hill. This section of the Li River is said to be the most beautiful section along Li River, including the famous Nine Horse Fresco Hill and the Reflection of Yellow Cloth Shoal (Huangbu Daoying) on RMB 20 Yuan note.

- Impression of Sanjie Liu - an open-air live show beside Li River of Yangshuo, it introduces the beautiful scenery of Li River, the colorful culture of the ethnic groups in Guangxi and the brave imagination of the excellent artists in China.

Continue your exploring in Yangshuo today by bike today. You will pass through local villages, paddy fields and the unique hills; stop at river bank for photos. The countryside cycling tour usually takes around 2-3hrs, depending on your fitness. You will also pass the Moon Hill, a natural limestone cave on the hill, and see how it changes from different viewing locations. Later you will be guided to walk around the West Street, with a history of over 2000 years. It is very popular among international travelers and local Westerners. Take your time at the street, savoring local culture, bars and etc.
Optional Activity:
- Yulong River Bamboo Rafting (for passengers from 7-70 years old and over 120cm in height) – RMB400 for a raft (two sharing seats). For around 1.5 hrs duration, take in the landscape of rolling karst hills, green bamboo forests, water buffaloes wandering the fields, farmers tending the rice paddies, village women washing clothes beside the river, and ducks swimming in the water - the idyllic scenes of simple rural life.
- Cooking Class - The cooking class starts by visiting a local wet market, where you can see various types of vegetables, meats and other ingredients. After the visit, go to the cooking school and began to learn some dishes in an easy and interesting way. After the class, you can sit down and enjoy the yummy food cooked by yourself.

In the morning, enjoy a leisure time. There are more activities you may want to take, like Taichi Class, Rock Climbing and Calligraphy Lesson, which you can check with hotel and book.
