Arrive in Beijing. Be met & transferred to your hotel. If time permits, visit the Jingshan Mountain, and have a whole view of Forbidden City from the Jingshan Mountain top. As you climbed on to the Jingshan Mountain, a beautiful scene opened out before you. And you will watch the sunset of the Forbidden City.

Full day guided city tour by bike. Shared bike is so popular in China and today you will experience it with the help of your guide. After getting the bike, you will ride around the Forbidden City, Jingshan Park, Shichahai, Hutongs, Drum & Bell Tower, and Lhama Temple.

Total distance is around 15km and you will have chance to stop en route and visit some scenic sites (entrance fee to be paid locally). Tasting local snacks along the way are also a highlight of the tour. Tour finishes at around 4 pm, ride back or take taxi back to hotel.

Explore Beijing City by bike

Guided tour by public transportation (metro and shared car/taxi: Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and Temple of Heaven.

- The Tian'anmen Square: The largest city square in the world.

- The Forbidden City: The largest imperial palace in China for 24 emperors' reign during the Ming and Qing dynasties with a history of around 600 years.

- The Temple of Heaven: A masterpiece of architecture and landscape design where the ancient emperors used to pray for the God's bless of the whole nation.

Beijing Forbidden City & Temple of Heaven

Transfer to Gubeikou by private car (around 2hrs) and take a walking tour on the Great Wall. The walk starts from Gubeikou and head to Jinshanling with a small section of the walk is at the foot of the wall. Today's walk takes about 5 hours.

Overnight in a guesthouse in Gubeikou or Gubeikou Water Town. (Camping on the Great Wall is possible according to season you visit. Please advise if you want to try.)

Jinshanling Great Wall & Gubeikou Water Town

This morning, you will take a walking tour from Jinshanling towards Simatai, the east part of Jinshanling Great Wall. The walk takes around 4 hours and starts from Jinshanling scenic area, where the wall has been well restored. After around one hour walk, you will be on the wild section of the wall for 2.5hrs till descending to Jinshanling East Entrance with a walk of 30min on steps. Transfer back to Beijing airport or train station after the walk.

Extend the Tour

Xi'an: the heart of ancient China, served as the capital of 13 ruling dynasties. Add 2-3 days to discover the highlights of Xi'an: Terracotta Army, Ancient City Wall, and Small Wild Goose Pagoda.

Shanghai: the most dynamic cosmopolitan city in China. Add 2-3 days to experience its colonial history and dramatic modernity: the Bund, Yu Garden, Shanghai World Financial Center Tower, and Old French Concession.

Datong: China's capital for three separate dynasties with amazing historical and cultural heritages. Add 3-4 days to visit the spectacular Yungang Grottoes (UNESCO World Heritage) and the interesting Hanging Temple built into a cliff.
