You will be met by our guide at the exit of the Airport Hall or Train Station, and then transfer to hotel by private car. Rest of the time is on your own exploration.

  Suggestions for Your Leisure Time  

  • The central lakes are highly recommended for a leisure walking. You can view the Sun & Moon Pagodas in the lake, which are brilliant in the evening with light on. By the famous 500-year-old banyan tree, stands the ancient south gate built in Tang Dynasty.
  • Popular local pedestrian streets - You can also walk along the Zhengyang Pedestrian Street to the newly renovated East & West Alley at the foot of the ancient wall of Jingjiang Princes Palace in Ming Dynasty. It's the right place for souvenior, local food and snacks, like Guilin rice noodle.

After breakfast in hotel, the guide will meet you at hotel again and drive out of downtown to Tianxin Village. A warming-up walking for around 2hrs, following the trails used to be the ancient path for the scholars going to Guilin city for country exams. The trail winds up and down along mountain slope, through fruit orchards, and end in villages surrounded by rice paddies. After the walk, transfer back to city center, en route you will have rice noodle for lunch in one of the most famous rice noodle restaurants.

In the afternoon, visit Reed Flute Cave, a must-see sight of Guilin. The cave got its name from the verdant reeds growing outside it, with which people make flutes. Inside this water-eroded cave is a spectacular world of various stalactites, stone pillars and rock formations created by carbonate deposition. Illuminated by colored lighting, the fantastic spectacle is found in many variations along this 240-meter-long cave. It is also called as a "Natural Art Gallery".

Tianxin Village hike

Transfer to Longji Scenic Area this morning. The drive takes around 2.5hrs to get to Jinkeng Dazhai, a village inhabited by Yao minortity people. Starting from here, you will follow the trail on mountain ridge, crossing the rice fields or through trees and bamboo forests. At half way, you will get to Zhongliu, another Yao village. Have lunch in local family restaurants you may have chance to try the local Oil Tea, with ginger in it, it helps to get out of the cold from your body. Arrive Ping'an in the afternoon, you will have a panoramic view of the village with stunning rice terraces around. Overnight in the village.

Dazhai to Ping'an walking tour takes about 5hrs.

Longji Rice Terraces hiking

Inhabited by Zhuang minority people, Ping'an village haves over 300 years history. There are around 200 families are still living in harmony with nature here. It is the earliest village in this area to open to tourists because of the wonderful rice terraces. Today, you will take a more leisure walking tour to the sightseeing platform and ancient Zhuang Village for around 2-3hrs. Afternoon for your own to explore the lifestyle of the local villagers.

Descend to meet your driver after breakfast and then drive towards Shangnei, which is a small village belongs to Yangshuo. Between the village and Li River, there is a mountain. You will follow an ancient path to walk to the river. The scene broadens at the top after a climbing up for 50 meters, and you will see Li River beneath and picturesque mountains on its both sides. Lunch will be taken in a local family restaurant. In the past, the only way that the villagers went out was either taking the path you just walked or by ferry on Li River. The rest of the walk is much easier and relaxing. Follow the path along the river, you will walk about 10km to Xingping with a ferry on halfway. Overnight in Xingping today.It is a quiet small town after tourists leave.

Li River hiking

Free at leisure for a rest this morning. You may be interested in taking a bamboo boat cruise on Li River (at extra expenses), or climb up to Laozhaishan for a bird view of the river, or take a ferry trip to Fishing Village, which was visited by Bill Clinton in 2015.Sure. It is great to enjoy the time in Xingping ancient town with a cup of tea or coffee. After lunch, transfer to Yangshuo and take a 2-2.5hrs walking tour along Yulong River. Yulong River is more exquisite and more local people's lifestyles can be seen. Transfer to hotel in Yangshuo and overnight.

Half day walking tour along Yulong River takes 2.5-3hrs.

Today is at your own disposal. You can rent a bike from hotel and ride to the countryside again. Or you may want to take a cooking class or Taichi class to learn more about Chinese cultures and exercise your body in a soft way.
