Guangxi Museum of Nationalities

Guangxi Museum of Nationalities was determined by the government of the autonomous region as the key public cultural facilities construction projects in 2003. As the key project and tribute project to the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guangxi Museum of Nationalities was formally started construction in June 2006. It was completed and opened to the public in December 2008.

All the citizens can enjoy the unique local housing construction, attires and woodenwares of Guangxi, the exhibition of "Colorful Guangxi" and the show "Culture of Bronze-drum" to display the customs concerning the culture of Guangxi minorities’ bronze-drum and its origin and evolvement. In addition, the visitors can also appreciate the co-exhibition of the “West Memory-The Historical Gem of the Five Western Minority Provincial Regions” to show the splendid folk culture of Inner Mongolia, Ningxia, Qinghai, Xinjiang and Guangxi. Over the past five years, based on the over 5,000 pieces of the ethnic relics allocated and transferred from Guangxi Museum, Guangxi Museum of Nationalities carried out an overall investigation of the current conditions of the ethnic minorities’ culture protection and inheritance, material articles collection and system research within the border of Guangxi more than three years.
