Day
Upon you arrival in Xian, China’s historic capital, you will be met at the airport or railway station. Transfer to hotel check in. Leisure time will be arranged on your own.
OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES
- Evening food tour by Tuk Tuk - wind through Xian’s streets and secret alleys by tuktuk to taste the most authentic food of Xian, sharing the gastronomic delight with the locals.
After breakfast, you will be picked up at your hotel and transfer to visit the Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. The Terracotta Warriors and Horses is famed as the 8th Wonders of the World. Meet this magnificent collection of terracotta sculptures that reproduce the glory of the powerful dynasty of Qin Shi Huang (the first Emperor of China).
Then your guide will take you to a cave dwelling to visit a local family, where you can learn how to make a small clay warrior, a great fun for both parents and kids.
This afternoon you will be taken to see the old city wall of Xian which form a circumference of 9 miles with a gateway and watchtowers on each side. Initially built in Tang Dynasty, through most sections of the wall has been restored or even rebuilt and it stands at 12 metres high. Cycling on the city wall will give your family great views of the city.
You May Want to Know
- The weather in Xian is drier compared to other southern cities of China, so it is better to bring some water, use moisturizers and sunblock, wear a hat and sun glasses to protect your skin from the sun burns.

This morning your family will learn more about Chinese history by visiting the Shaanxi History Museum first. It is one of the most important museums in China, the best representative of the region, a feast for your eyes,. Afterwards, you’ll have a happy family time - discovering the secrets of ancient Chinese recipes whilst learning how to make Chinese dumplings at a local family’s house. At the end of your experience you will get to enjoy your creations for lunch. This afternoon you will visit the Muslim Street, get close to Muslim people and their life. Besides, on this popular food street, you’ll find traditional dishes and special snacks. And the visit the Great Mosque, built in a Chinese architectural style and most of the grounds are taken up with gardens.

- The Moslem Street can be quite busy during weekends and holidays, especially the evening, so you’d better prepare to twist your way through the crowd

After breakfast, your private guide and driver will accompany you to the Hanyang Tomb, which is a joint mausoleum of Liu Qi (188 -141 BC), the fourth emperor of the Western Han Dynasty, and his wife Empress Wang. It is located at Zhanjiawan Village, near the airport. A large amount of colored pottery figurines and other items are displayed here.
According to your family's flight or train departure time, we will transfer you to airport or railway station on time. Your 4 days XIan discovery tour ends.
